Hatch Innovations has a diverse background of experience. Through confluence of a variety of strange coincidences, we have worked on just about every kind of software you might imagine. We have worked deeply in everything from real-time middle ware systems, to intense graphical user interface applications, to large application and system development, software driver development - and we’ve done this all in every kind of programming language you can imagine.

Hatch Innovations is an ethics based business. Ethical dynamics are at the heart of everything we do. We are not interested in money, and if you think we’re kidding, that’s understandable. What we are interested in is craft and service. In order to put craft and service at the forefront, we have learned that we have to work with a certain kind of customer - the kind of customer that believes in their vision, has enough chutzpah to carry it out and who still maintains a high sense of ethics.

Hatch Innovations is a Microsoft-based stack vendor. This means that we generally use technologies on the Microsoft stack of development technologies. For us, this begins with the Visual C++ compiler, which we use for all heavy lifting.

However, we will use whatever technology is necessary to properly implement your project - this can include “out of stack” choices such as Adobe Flex/Flash, C++ components on other platforms or produced with other compilers, or any of a variety of database platforms. We may even use other managed language systems, such as Java.

The project comes first and the goal is to deliver the best possible result - the choice of technologies should be the lever used to produce the best result. This is how we work. And we will turn you down if we think we are not the best vendor for producing your solution, so be prepared. We may refer you to a trusted vendor who can do the project properly, but we will never take on your project if we are not certain that we are a fit culturally, ethically, technically and actually.

Because we have worked with such a wide variety of technologies and languages, we often utter the statement, “It’s all bytes and sockets”. By this we mean that computers can only do two things - store values and manipulate them, and then move those across network boundaries. From this vista it is possible to see that all software development is completely related and can be seen in common terms.

But in general terms, we work with Microsoft .NET, Silverlight, SQL Server, Visual and Objective C++ as specific technologies. Everything we produce is designed to embody the most cutting edge object-oriented and modular strategies, regardless of the language or technology in which we work.
